Rummaging through my attic recently, I came across this acrylic painting my mother did in high school. I had forgotten about it, as most things do that get squirreled away in the dark corners of the attic. As my mother was more into socializing and being a “gad-about” artistic endeavors were low on the priority scale. I found it amazing that she was still long enough to paint a picture. Perhaps it was for a school art project.
The subject matter is particularly significant and prescient, as her “some-day daughter” would grow up and launch a website, called Tiger Lily’s Attic, based on a photo of said 4- year -old daughter taken in a patch of tiger lilies in Kansas.
