The last post featured the great display tables that will be in the booth for The Farm Chicks Antique sale that I will be attending as a vendor. The sale is in Spokane, WA the first weekend in June and I am hot and heavy on the vintage trail. I am also in the throes of creating fetching booth displays. It seems that several items have been collected that have a lovely blue color way to them so I decided to create a wondrous vignette promoting the color. It is a two day show so I’ve decided to have two different color palettes, one for each day. One day will feature the blue color-way and the other day will have black, burlap, and cream for the color-way. I am embellishing a strip garland with black vintage fabric, some of which have beaded and rhinestone fabric. Elegant!
To anchor the display, I created a fabric strip garland with the shades of blue that will be featured. Fortunately I had found a sheet at a garage sale that was the right shade and with the ready supply of muslin and burlap in my fabric stash away it went. I tied the strips onto a length of rope which added to the country aspect of the garland.
The strips are about 2′ long and were put on the rope with a simple fold in half and loop it over the rope and pull it through technique. Then I made a simple knot to secure it tight. Quick, easy, and so effective. I ripped all of the fabric instead of cutting with scissors as I like the raggedy edges. The threads on the burlap strips were pulled so there is a lovely loose edge to all of those as well. Thank goodness raveled edges are trendy and popular now.
One of the photos shows the collection so far of the lovely blue items. Even though some items are not completely blue, they still work in the vignette as the color pulls out what is there and brings it all together.
As the booth comes together I will post photos of the shabby chic furniture and cool items I have found. There will be housewares; children’s antique toys and clothes; women’s hats, gloves, jewelry, and vintage dresses; funky cowgirl items; framed art; and much more.
